The Toyota Camry has been the most popular sedan in the country for the past 20 years and it continues as the #1 selling passenger car in America. It comes with a well-earned reputation for reliability and offers a hybrid variation that can give you outstanding fuel economy. The latest generation of the Camry is even more stylish than before, especially with the new Nightshade package or the sporty TRD trim. Toyota's mid-size sedan is still available with an optional V6 engine that pumps out 301 horsepower.
What's new for 2023?
Toyota has added an available Nightshade package with black headlight trim to match the black front grille, along with a rear spoiler, mirror caps and badges. The Nightshade also adds matte bronze 19-inch wheels that fit right in. Reservoir Blue is a new paint color and the Camry lineup gets more driver assistance technology including automatic high beams and a forward-facing camera that can read certain road signs and present them to you on a digital display.
Trim levels in the new 2023 Toyota Camry
The new Toyota Camry gives buyers in Medina and Albion, NY a total of nine trims to choose from:
- LE
- SE
- LE Hybrid
- SE Hybrid
- XLE
- XSE
- XLE Hybrid
- TRD
- XSE Hybrid
You can keep the base price of the Camry below $30,000 by choosing one of the three lowest trims: The LE, the XLE and the XSE hybrid. The XLE Hybrid is a very good higher-end choice that's still priced at less than $35,000 just like the rest of the Camry lineup. The XLE Hybrid makes the Camry a relaxed family sedan with accommodations that are almost in the Lexus category. The XLE rides well, steers accurately and has a standard leather interior that's spacious, handsome and well-equipped.
Engines and performance
The new Toyota Camry comes with a standard four-cylinder engine under the hood that’s teamed up with a smooth 8-speed automatic. There’s a less powerful version of that engine that's coupled with a battery and two electric motors to motivate the Camry hybrid. The best powertrain of the bunch is the V6 engine with 301 horsepower that you'll find on the XLE and XSE models along with the TRD version. The Camry now comes with a controlled ride and handling that's surprisingly responsive. The steering is nicely weighted and feels substantial when you’re turning a corner or maneuvering in parking lots. The new Camry can run from zero to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds.
Fuel economy
The latest version of the Toyota Camry, equipped with a four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive, can get 28 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on highways around Le Roy and Attica NY. The EPA estimates drop to 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway when equipped with all-wheel drive. Move up to the V6 engine and front-wheel drive and you'll still get outstanding fuel efficiency at 22 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
Interior technology
The Toyota Camry comes with a 7-inch touch screen, a 6-speaker stereo and smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android. You can upgrade to a 9-inch touch screen, a 9-speaker stereo and wireless device charging along with a panoramic moonroof.
Safety technology
